Reach Customers Across Africa by Building a Strategic Network of Manufacturing Hubs & Partner Spokes to serve customers across Africa; and Becoming an Export Oriented Business with Strong Local Presence in each CountryOverall Objective of the JobTo oversee the warehousing and logistics function which includes, proper management of all inventories, efficient receipt & storage of WIP & FG, and efficient dispatch to customers while ensuring maximum productivity and compliance to warehouse processes and controls.Key ResponsibilitiesWarehouse & Inventory Management● Ensure proper management of all inventories and ensure correct physical stocks are reported and always reconciled with the ERP● Develop, implement and enforce inventory policies, procedures, adopt appropriate technology, ERP workflows and internal controls.● Collate, document and report all variances reported during receipt of goods from suppliers/ inter warehouse transfers and ensure the necessary adjustments are done after approvals.● Perform monthly stock reconciliations of physical counts against system for all categories of inventory /warehouses and highlight variances to the management.● Oversee and coordinate physical inventory counts of goods (monthly and cycle counts for all go downs along with regular inspections to identify discrepancies or ways to improve inventory management● Oversee and coordinate the warehouse team to implement and ensure proper control systems and procedures to reduce theft, damage, breakage, and inventory obsolescence.● Monitor all inventory related transactions on the ERP to ensure proper recording, completion and clean-up of incomplete transactions i.e. transfer orders, purchase orders and sales orders/return orders.● Oversee end to end warehouse processes i.e., receiving, put away, warehousing, stock controls, dispatch and distribution.● Plan and facilitate inventory management, demand planning, and ensure sufficient stocks are maintained● Regular layout review and ensure efficient space utilization.Outbound Logistics/Dispatch● Keep track of quality, quantity, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency● Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services● Provide work plans, route plans, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results for the warehouse and logistics team.● Build and manage a network of third-party service providers including transportation, warehousing, and input suppliers.● Develop and implement an integrated logistics strategy monitoring the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and warehousing of goods.● Ensure adequate record keeping and manage all requisite documentation.Academic and Professional Qualifications● Bachelor's Degree in any of the following fields: Accounting/Finance/Operations Management/Supply Chain or any other business-related field.● CPAK/ACCA● A postgraduate Diploma in Supply Chain Management from a reputable institutionKnowledge and Experience● Knowledge and relevant experience of not less than eight (8) years in warehousing and logistics with 2 to 3 Years' experience in Inventory control in a manufacturing firm● Good understanding of stock related operational and control requirements● Working knowledge of Health, Safety and Quality management process.● Knowledge of materials control and inventory management.● Basic understanding of warehousing, principles, and procedures.● Good working knowledge and understanding of Kaizen, GMP and factory processes & technology.● Demonstrated work experience with an ERP.● Basic proficiency with computer applications and programs including MS365.Functional Skills● Excellent planning and organizational skill● Ability to effectively utilize the allocated resources in a cost-effective way.● Ability to plan and prioritize workload with a focus on urgent and important.● Ability to work under pressure● A proven ability to manage staff and ensure maximum productivityPersonal Qualities● Capable of making quick and sound decisions.● Good interpersonal skills● Manual dexterity● Confident and bold to communicate and give instructions.● Excellent management and leadership skills.
