Job Description/RequirementsChemonics seeks a social and emotional learning specialist foran anticipated education project in Kenya. The Connectivity for Learningproject aims to strengthen the Government of Kenya’s (GOK) educationsystem to ensure that all classroom environments are high quality,inclusive, and focused on the learning of foundational literacy skills.The activity will also aim to expand its distance learning programmingtoward more digitally relevant and impactful online learning solutionsthat are accessible to all students, especially children in the earlyprimary grades. We are looking for individuals who have a passion formaking a difference in the lives of people around the world.The SEL Specialist will lead the implementation of thedistrict/nationwide Social Emotional Learning strategic plan. The SELSpecialist will identify gaps in social, emotional, and behavioralatmosphere of the school and classroom and develops plans of actionaround priorities. The SEL works in partnership with variousstakeholders, including students, parents, community organizations andmental health providers to support student social emotional learning.Qualifications:Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or Education preferred5 years relevant experience in education preferredTraining in trauma-informed practices and/or restorative practicesand experience teaching a social emotional curriculum to studentsExperience working with social, emotional, and behavioral supports preferredClassroom teaching or school-based management experience highly preferredDemonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrityHow to applyApplication Instructions:Please send your CV and cover letter to the email addressKenyaRead@chemonics.onmicrosoft.com.
