Job Description/RequirementsRTI InternationalJob Vacancy: Deputy Chief of PartyRTI International is an independent organization dedicated to conducting innovative, multidisciplinary research that improves the human condition.RTI is currently implementing the USAID-funded Feed the Future Kenya Crop and Dairy Market Systems (KCDMS) Activity.The activity began in 2017 and runs through September 2022.The goal of the activity is to improve productivity and incomes of smallholder Kenyan farmers and strengthen market systems.RTI is seeking qualified candidates to serve as Deputy Chief of Party beginning in October 2021.The position is open to Kenyan nationals and will be based in Nairobi with regular travel to Eastern and Western Kenya.Responsibilities:Provide technical direction and oversight of project technical activities, which include value chain partnerships, access to finance, agricultural policy, agri-nutrition training and behavior change, communications, access to markets, and business development services, among others.Manage technical staff (20+) across multiple project offices providing guidance and oversight and ensuring achievement of activities and results.Ensure integration across the five technical components while promoting team collaboration towards timely completion of milestone deliverables.Lead project technical reporting and project communications and ensure the timely submissions of project quarterly and annual reports.Lead the development of KCDMS private sector partnerships, including the design and implementation of activities.Oversee implementation of grantees (100+) and their timely submission of deliverables through activity completion and required reporting.Identify and ensure opportunities for collaboration with other implementing partners.Serve as alternate liaison to USAID, key stakeholders, and RTI in the absence of the Chief of Party.Minimum Qualifications:Demonstrated expertise and a minimum of 10 years’ experience managing large (at least $10 million), complex value chain or agri-business projects, with experience in production, agricultural economics, market intelligence, or related field;Extensive experience as a COP, Deputy COP, or Project Director desired; or similar management experience for projects with similar magnitude and complexity in developing countries.At least a master’s degree in economics , business studies , international development, or relevant / equivalent.Knowledge and experience implementing USAID policies and procedures.How to ApplyInterested qualified candidates should visit this linkhttp://m.rfer.us/RTIT8AAV4for more details and apply byJuly 23, 2021 at 5.00 p.m.Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.No applicant will ever be asked for any payment either to secure a role with RTI International or as a follow-up to having been awarded a position with RTI International.
