Population growth, urbanization, and income growth are all rapidly fueling consumers’ ability and desire to buy fresh fish; however, access to fresh fish has declined driven by dwindling wild-catch stocks (e.g., tilapia population has dropped90% over the last 30 yearsand continues to decline).Victory Farms Kenya:Victory Farms is a fully vertically integrated aquaculture company, with farm operations in the Lake Victoria region. The company was established in 2015 and is now the fastest growing fish farm in the region, accounting for roughly50% of local fish productionand75% of the industry’s annual growth, and is uniquely positioned to continue to scale by employing best-in-class technologies, people and processes to build the leading global tilapia farm.OPEN POSITION: Data and Reporting AnalystAs we scale from a start-up farm to a more structured entity, we are looking to add a Data and Reporting Analyst to our team who can add immediate value to the organization. The ideal candidate will be able to turn data into information and information into insight for business decisions.A successful candidate will:• Be highly organized with a focus on system building• Have a solid background in aquaculture sciences, with at least a B.Sc. level of education• Have a minimum of 5 years' experience in Aquaculture (preferable but not essential)• Be fluent in English• Be highly computer literate, with emphasis on Microsoft Excel• Be willing to relocate to rural Kenya• Be willing to get their hands wet and dirty and be as passionate about fish as we areMain areas of responsibility:• Oversee all activities of the lake based grading team• Create balanced schedules for weekly and monthly fish handling in line with annual production targets.• Write out an implement SOPs in conjunction with the lake aquaculture manager.• Demonstrate the ability to think critically and problem solve while working under high pressure.• Schedule regular maintenance and report on all mechanical problems with the grader.• Create and implement efficient asset management systems to ensure departmental and sub-departmental net demands are met.• Design and carry out trials and experiments on nets and fish as required• Compile and analyse data and produce reports in a timely manner.• Ensure proactive reporting on issues experienced on the grading platformSummaryJob Title:Data and Reporting AnalystLocation: Homa BayCompensation: CompetitiveStart date: ImmediateApplication Deadline: 28th November, 2021Please send a CV and cover letter expressing your interest and qualifications.
