Job Description/RequirementsROADS,TRANSPORT, ENERGY& PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENTQUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIESBasic Salary Scale: Ksh. 49,000 – 65,120 (CPSB 07) -House Allowance: Ksh.22, 000 pmCommuter Allowance: KShs.8, 000 p.m.Medical Cover: As provided by the County GovernmentTerms of Service: Permanent and PensionableDuties and ResponsibilitiesI) Overseeing preparation of short, medium- and long-term road works programsII)Manage, design, develop, create and maintain small-scale through tolarge-scale construction projects in a safe, timely and sustainablemanner;III) Plan and design engineering structures followingconstruction and government standards, using design software and drawingtool;IV) Conduct on site investigations and analyse data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other);V) Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications;VI) Coordinating preparation and finalization of road works tendersVII)Analyse survey reports, maps, drawings, plans, blueprints, aerialphotography and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects;VIII)Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etcand deliver technical files and other technical documents as required;IX) Supervising roads and structural works contracts;X)Undertaking regular road safety audits, accident data analysis, designreview and implementing road accident counter measures;Requirement and QualificationsI) Degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent and relevant qualification from recognized institutionII) Be registered by the Engineers Board of Kenya as a Professional EngineerIII)Should have a minimum of six years’ experience in road designconstruction; or Served in the grade of Assistant Engineer I (Civil) orcomparable and relevant position in the public service for at leastthree (3) Years.IV) Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar;V) Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals,VI) Project management and supervision skills;VII) Ability to travel and work in far and remote areas of the County to supervise projectsVIII) Sound mathematical (financial) and technical skills;IX) Ability to maintain an overview of entire projects while continuing to attend to detailed technicalities:X) Excellent verbal and written communication skills.XI) Negotiating, supervisory and leadership skills combined with the ability to delegate.
